These octopi are huge, carnivorous and can even eat infrastructures. They even attempted to eat Agent Brains, Alpha One and Fred, however, they failed and were defeated by Fred and Friday. They usually appear on outlets or openings to hide for a surprise attack.

Obviously, like most predators, they focus on their prey with the eye. When a victim is captured or is in near-death situation, the prey should hit or shoot the predator's eye and escape immediately, leaving the predator stunned or unable to retaliate.
They are ways to defeat this creature, like whacking it on the head just as Fred did to all of them or trapping within the inside of their own hideout.
